Yup that’s what i’ve discovered this week and i’ve been drinking it lots, I love the drink its just so damn tasty. So apart from finding out how great Bovril is, I’ve been wearing my new prison shirts…. that make me look mental and I have had one person ask after seeing a photo of me in one of the shirts, “What did he get locked up for?”. Anyways I’ve realised that I haven’t posted in awhile so I thought I’d just make mention of some films i’ve seen recently with a quick review of them.
Night At The Museum
It wasn’t a bad film, good idea but I felt it was poorly executed. I reckon that the book is probably a very good read and the film just didn’t live up to its potential (as is the case with most book to film adaptations).
Employee Of The Month
I Enjoyed this film, it had enough humour to keep me going but I feel its weak point was that it didn’t relate enough to what its like working in retail. It felt like a poor man’s version of Clerks, but non the less was quite enjoyable.
Ok talking about Employee Of The Month has made me think of films people should see in relation to jobs/careers.
- Office Space – The ultimate movie if you work in a office and do suffer at the hands of middle management……. and if you keep losing your stapler.
- Clerks - If you work in general retail (or specifically a convience store), this is the movie for you.
- Clerks II - This one is more geared towards those of you that work in the fast food industry.
- Waiting… - If you work in a real restaurant rather than a fast food joint, maybe this is more your bag.
- Leon – It’s unlikely that you are a assassin or hitman, but if you are this movie should be your holy grail!
Also finally….. I’ve been watching “24” alot lately (just the first season so far) and I must admit its not as I-MUST-WATCH-THE-NEXT-EPISODE-NOW as other shows like Prison Break or The Shield, but it does have its charm.

Ok so i’ve just found out about some films, firstly I found out about Epic Movie (Yes it makes me cringe just typing it) and i’m shocked that they’ve made another seeing as Date Movie was so goddamn awful. The second film I found out about is the very cool looking Smokin’ Aces (Which is directed by the same guy who directed “Narc”.) and its just got that cool kinda cast thing going on. Finally I came across Balls of Fury….. all I can say is its either gonna be REALLY good or REALLY bad, also the other thing I could say is LOL

So here we are in the new year, it is just me or does it just not have that cool feeling to it like it used to. Come to think of it, Christmas doesn’t really feel like Christmas anymore does it? Maybe that’s just one of the downsides of working in retail.
So anyways New Years Eve was fun, just hanging out with the guys, its been a damn long time since i’ve last done it and more than likely it will be a damn long time before it happens again. I think the most important thing I learned from New Years was that my pals are still as immature as they were 5-6 years ago, which is nice. Also on top of that it was just awesome to see Christo after well over a year.
Today I went to work while I was very very ill, struggled through most of the day and then my manager jumped on my back for a piggy back (bare in mind this was during opening hours with customers still in store, lol) but I got my revenge by giving him a short but swift kick up the arse.
I reckon that in order to keep some content flowing on to the site I will randomly recommend some films for you guys, maybe you will think “Hrmm, Dan is a smart guy he must know a good film when it sees it” or maybe you will think “Why the fuck does he think Kung Pow: Enter The Fist is a good movie, lets burn him!”
